Have you heard the story of Merlion?

by funnylittlestories

Merlion, a mythical creature of part lion part fish is the national personification of Singapore. The lion head represents Singapore’s original name – Singa while the fish body represents the fishing village Singapore used to be (cited from wikipedia.com, I trust wiki.) This is basically a story of my short trip to Singapore to meet my best friend and also a professor for a potential phDship (for your info, it went well!). We hung out like we always do and caught up from where we left off in London. It was so wonderful. She showed me the little hipster spots that she knew I will love. We had shisha on Arab st, explored coffee places, walked around tiong baharu and ended our trip with a movie date.
