100 days of happiness

by funnylittlestories

No one can be happy 24/7 and that is a fact. The important bit is to rejoice the happy moments in the day and that can evoke strong positive feelings and contentment. It may sound like something that you can read about in a self motivational book that you can buy off the book shelf for 9.99. Sounds easy but it may be hard for some people especially on a difficult day. I have been encouraged by my best friend to start recording a moment, incident, or something that makes me happy daily for 100 days. As much as I see the value in doing so, I am curious to find out towards the end what makes me happy on most days and tease out what matters most to me.

Happiness #1 Today, the walk back home from the Anna Freud Center made me happy. It was so calming to take a stroll down belsize avenue, to the lively camden high street into my cozy little flat.

Pretty Patterns of Porto

by funnylittlestories

Every corner in the city has a beautiful patterned tile wall and I was the silly Asian trying to capture every tile I see. I will let the tiles speak for the place.

Sea blue, sea green

So wonderful to witness the majestic ocean waves crashing on the rocks, the sun slowly setting behind, feeling the sea breeze while sitting on the beach.

Take me back to the Atlantic Ocean.

Little French Lady

by funnylittlestories

Frencecinha – little French lady is apparently a Porto specialty consisting of a variety of meat in a toast topped with melted cheese and drenched in a tomato based special sauce. Sounds comforting and heaven for meat eaters! I opted for a cheese sandwich instead which was equally yummy. It has been awhile since I have written due to busy school schedule and clinical placement but I am finding a bit more time during travels.
This tLime, port wine has brought my roommate and I to Porto, Portugal! Our first day here has been received with lots of sun, beautiful o
ld streets and Germans. There is a huge football match between Porto and Frankfurt tonight and the entire city is filled with Frankfurters! We spent the first day strolling along the river. We had actually planned on walking from the city center to the Atlantic Ocean but got distracted with little corners of porto. We barely left the city center. Porto has been nice and brought me back 100 years ago. Today will consist of a walking tour, port wine cellar and a Portuguese class!
